Today start the official holiday in Japan and thus the traffic is very bad and crowded everywhere. We start our journey to Beppu別府 at very late time after a long talking with bf friends yesterday night. Beppu is one of the famous hotspring resort in Japan and Yufuin said to be house of the best hotspring in Japan.
From the picture, it doesnt appear a hotspring town because we didnt make it to the hotspring town yet, because it is too crowded and is getting late. What we did were only going to the harbour and watch people fishing , i guess this is bf best entertainment and can be more upset when he sees people caught BIG FISHES. Another thing about going near the port area, we like to check on those cruiser that parked there, always dreaming to own one. About Yufuin, we went there last summer and tried the hotspring but this time we dont even dare to think going into Beppu town needless to say Yufuin. I have always wanted to go to Kuju Highlandhttp://www.hanakoen.kuju.oita.jp/map/la which have a beautiful flower garden. Last summer we headed to the highland after Yufuin but unfortunately we have to turn back due to the bad weather and typhoon alert is on everywhere. We were thinking to stay a night at Beppu and early the next morning will be able to go to Kuju Highland, however we didnt manage to get a place to stay. Needless to say ryoukan (japanese style hotel) are all fully booked and we were thinking to try our luck at hotel, hotel in this case means love hotel. Tourist come to the hotspring town mainly are family and we thought hotel will be less crowded compare to ryoukan, so we went to check and many of them are still vacant but the check in time is 9pm, then went to dinner in a family restaurant that kept us waiting for almost 40min for fast food. After dinner we were so happy to go to convenient store to get some beers and snack for our stay in hotel tonight but to our surprise when we return to check with the hotel, the light of sign board saying 満(full) was on. I guess we went around to check for more than 15hotels and so many cars is following behing to check the same like us. Once we did get down and check but the phenomenon was surprising, couple were lining up for their turn to check on the vending machine. There are no reception for love hotel in J for privacy purposes, so you just have to check on the machine that looks like vending machine, check which you you wanted, press it and get the access card, check out with your card, put in the card in the machine , slot in the money and thats it, no body will know who is coming in and out. But this was surprising.. couples waiting for their turn to get in the Love hotel.. kekek...Anyway we gave the idea of staying a night in Beppu, we then headed to some hotspring because we make it all the way here so why not take a bath and go home, but again, to get in the bath house we were told, need to wait for at least 2.5 hour.. and the reaction was CRAZY AR??????????? Then tired already and headed back home, luckyly this place is just less than 2 hour drive from bf home. On the way home bf showed me the R&R on the highway that he regarded has very nice night scene and romantic. Wow, it was indeed superb view but once i get out the car i was shivering and we stand there look at each other and can only say "SAMUI"!! forgotton bout all the romantic stuff and get in back the car.. keke.It was a tiring day, at last we reach the most comfortable hotel, Miyazaki hotel is still the best.
