When you need to someone, what expectation do you have? Do you actually need their input of opinion or you just someone to listen? Whether or not i guess most of people just want someone to listen to their thoughts, and sorrow. At good times you may wanna share you joy and happiness with someone. I guess, before asking others opinion, one have already thought about what have in their mind and they have already answer to their question to some extend, only reassurance is needed. Once read from a book the difference of men and women. Women just wanna talk and tell their problem, all they need is just a person who sit and listen without any opinion input unless specifically stated they need help on the issue, where else , men tend to think, OH, YOU NEED A SOLUTION or YOU NEED ME TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM everytime women wanna talk and that make men a not so good listener. From my observation, this is maybe true or maybe not. The issue today is not about men vs. women, but about wht is your expectation of the listener when you talk. Personally, i just want the listener to listen no doubt sometimes input of opinion is helpful. This is really difficult to achieve. Always when my mom is trying to talk to me, i will have the MEN reaction, feeling like telling her "so now, what do you want", and she said "i just want you to listen what im talking". It aint easy at all to be a listener , let alone good listener. I couldnt be a good listener and yet im expecting others to listen to me. Today, my bro talked to mom about some issue and my mom can only gave him sort of like "i told you not to do this, I TOLD YOU" kind of reply. I feel so bad for him, afterall, he just wanna tell his sorrow and yet ...Always i tell my friends about me and bf issue and almost all the time i get negative feedback, so i decided not to tell anymore. I know friends is giving me opinion of out good intention, but sometimes i really wanna tell, i just want someone to listen not to condemn or demotivate kind of opinion. Well, have to make myself a good listener before expecting others to be.
