Tanabata

Tanabata is a Japanese version of 七姉festival in Malaysia, however the methos of celebration is different and it is celebrate on 7 day of July here but in Malaysia we celebrate it on 7 day of 7 month in the lunar calendar. Here people write their wishes and hang it on a tree that looks like bamboo tree to me, but not sure exactly what tree is that hehe.. well i guess there arent must people celebrating this festival in malaysia, not even in Kampung i think. talking about this festival, i only recall, people celebrate it during night time instead , get ready a table and as usual worshiping with fruits and stuff, but there are some special stuff like a mirror, sprout planted in a can wrapped with red paper and a box of face powder with have an olden day chinese lady face printed on it.. not sure about what adult did during the festival, but i was happy to have reason to stay up late.
We went to the celebration of Tanabata organised by`buddies`, an association for foreigner. Some volunteers help wear us in Yukata and the good thing is that they even help carry and keep and eye on Yuta, so i can actually take rest for an hour and have time to chat around with other participants and they charge only 100 yen for all these service.
It was just good timing that i got a pair of Jimbei(summer kimono for boy?) from Minori`s Mom a day before the photo session.

I'm so glad it fits Yuta! You look good too! I've never tried carrying a baby in a yukata but it must be hard. BTW Minori has been talking every day about "Aunty Grace" and "baby Yuta" since our meeting last week!
